Narayani Trust

The Narayani Trust is a dedicated organization committed to fostering gender harmony and promoting women's empowerment through the lens of Indian philosophical thought. Our primary focus encompasses the realms of Service, Education, and Security. We envision a society that embraces and upholds the values of gender harmony, happiness, and peace. Our mission is to empower women to realize their inherent potential by leveraging their latent strengths. Therefore, we endeavour to collaborate with all segments of society to recognize and appreciate the significant contributions of both genders within the social system.

About us

Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar's life was a testament to unwavering dedication and selflessness. Born in 1725 in the village of Chondi in Maharashtra, she ascended to the throne of the Malwa kingdom after the death of her husband, Khanderao Holkar. Ahilyabai's reign was marked by her tireless efforts towards the welfare of her people and the advancement of her kingdom. Renowned for her humility and strong sense of duty, she exemplified sacrifice and perseverance, devoting herself to the betterment of Indian society. Ahilyabai's most notable contributions include the construction of numerous national and cultural monuments across the country, such as temples, wells, and dharmashalas, which stand as enduring symbols of her legacy and commitment to nation-building.

The significance of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar's life resonates deeply with the Narayni Trust, prompting their decision to celebrate the tricentennial year of her birth. Through commemorating her birth anniversary, we aim to honour and uphold her remarkable contributions to Indian society. Ahilyabai's unwavering dedication to duty and her relentless pursuit of societal development serve as a beacon of inspiration for generations to come. By celebrating her life and work, we seek to not only pay homage to her legacy but also to inspire others to emulate her noble virtues of sacrifice, asceticism, and perseverance. In doing so, we hope to perpetuate her spirit of selfless service and foster a sense of national pride and unity among the people of India.

Narayani Trust is focusing on the Skill Development Project to empower women and adolescent girls, particularly school dropouts, in the Vadodara district. By providing a comprehensive six-month certificate course in various areas, we aim to enhance their employability and foster economic independence.

The target community of women and young girls in Vadodara, especially school dropouts, faces significant social and economic challenges. These individuals often lack access to education and vocational training, limiting their opportunities for personal growth and community engagement.

The absence of these critical skills not only hampers their economic prospects but also diminishes their confidence and social standing. This project aims to address these issues by providing comprehensive training in various areas, thereby empowering them to lead independent, dignified lives and actively contribute to their communities. Through this initiative, we seek to foster a sense of purpose, improve social mobility, and promote gender harmony.

Narayani Trust is dedicated to fostering a healthy and prosperous Indian society. We believe that achieving economic upliftment and spreading goodwill are crucial to realizing this mission. While basic education is widely accessible today, it does not always meet the economic needs of individuals and their families. Barriers such as intellectual and financial constraints can further hinder access to education. To address these challenges, Narayani Trust is implementing programs aimed at enhancing economic stability and reinforcing social values within families.

Our organization is committed to the empowerment of women, but our goal extends beyond empowering women in isolation. We strive to create a harmonious social environment where women and men complement each other. To this end, Narayani Trust has launched a project called "Het!"

Adolescence is a pivotal period, marking the transition from childhood to adulthood. This phase, though delightful, can be fraught with confusion and misdirection. Proper guidance imbued with warmth (Het) during this time can pave the way for a promising future for both the individual and society. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by adolescent girls, Narayani Trust will initiate the "Het!" program for girls aged 10 to 16 in rural areas.

In rural communities, this period is often more challenging for girls than boys. While familial affection and guidance are generally available, integrating educational and technical support can yield significantly better outcomes. The "Het!" program will be conducted in every village, reaching approximately 300 villages in the Savli, Desar, Dabhoi, and Padra talukas. Through group meetings, street plays, and puppet shows, our volunteers will raise social awareness and promote the initiative. Participating girls will receive guidance from experts and sanitary kits.
